The StatusDashboard Slack integration allows you to automatically post messages to your organization's Slack channels whenever creating or updating events. The Slack integration configuration settings include global settings and status dashboard specific settings, both of which are described below:
Global Settings
Global Slack settings apply globally to a StatusDashboard account, including any status dashboards.

Add, view, import or delete Slack channels. Add Channel Slack channels can be manually added by selecting the plus icon and entering the Slack Channel Name and Channel ID. Import Channel Slack channels can be directly imported from your account by selecting the import icon. Test Channel(s) A test message can be send to one or more Slack channels by selecting the channel(s) and then selecting the test icon. Any Slack channels that are shown in this list will also be available for posting activity log messages. |

By default, all Slack messages posted to your channels about events will include an icon indicating whether the event is an incident or scheduled maintenance as well as a direct link to your dashboard. You also have the option of including additional information in the Slack message by configuring the options below. These options will be the default settings when events are created and will persist with the event once set (although you can change these settings on the event at any time). Enable / Disable Event Details When enabled, all current event details will be included in the Slack message that is posted to a channel when an event is created or updated. Slack Message An optional message that you would like to accompany Slack messages sent to your channels when events are created or updated. |

Slack Authorization In order to use the StatusDashboard Slack integration for sending notifications, you must add the StatusDashboard Slack application to your workspace. To authorize the StatusDashboard Slack application, click the authorize key which will take you to slack.com where you will need to sign-in to your Slack workspace. Once signed-in, click the Allow button to authorize and add the StatusDashboard application in your workspace. Once the StatusDashboard Slack application has been added to your workspace, you should see it under Apps in Slack. Now add the StatusDashboard app to any channels that will receive event notifications (within channel options, Add apps => StatusDashboard => Add) . Enable Notifications When this option is disabled, the option to post Slack messages when creating or updating events will not be available. |
Status Dashboard Settings
Status dashboard Slack settings apply to specific status dashboards (i.e. each status dashboard within an account has its own specific Slack settings.

Delivery Errors
If you would like to be notified of errors in the delivery of notification messages to any of your configured Slack channels, you can subscribe to receive email notification alerts. Once subscribed, we'll quickly notify you if we experience any errors that would indicate a problem with Slack, or a misconfigured integration. To subscribe to alerts, navigate to User Profile > Options > Notifications > Notification Errors.
Source IP Addresses
IP addresses from which we will access the Slack API are listed in our public StatusDashboard configuration file. This file is updated whenever our IP addresses change.
